Steve Evans confirms Celtic are interested in Joe Walsh
Gillingham manager Steve Evans has confirmed that Celtic are one of a number of clubs interested in 17-year-old goalkeeper Joe Walsh.
The Hoops have recently been linked with a move for Walsh alongside the likes of Everton and RB Leipzig, and according to Football League World, Evans has confirmed that both Celtic and the Toffees have scouted the shot-stopper.
Some of these big clubs will be looking and thinking, because of the homegrown rule as well, they need homegrown players. He is a big asset to us.
We know the people that are coming, it’s not made up. Celtic have been here, Everton have been here, overseas clubs, a couple of German clubs saying they are looking at our young goalkeeper.

While Evans confirmed that Celtic and Everton are two of the clubs who are monitoring Walsh, he also revealed that he is yet to receive a formal offer for the 6ft 4in ‘keeper.
Given the amount of interest in him however, it looks likely that clubs will come knocking in January, meaning the youngster could have a big decision to make in the New Year.
