Alex Rae believes Tavernier is better than Frimpong
Alex Rae has had his say on suggestions that Jeremie Frimpong is a better defender than Rangers’ James Tavernier.
Frimpong has received large amounts of praise following his emergence this season, and Neil Lennon has recently suggested he’s “never seen a better kid than him.”.
A number of fans have also been hailing Frimpong, and Rae was shown one supporter’s Tweet about the youngster being a better player than Tavernier on the Ladbrokes Social Club.
It’s a bit ambitious, it’s a bit ambitious. Tavernier has been doing it for numerous years now and he continues to do it. But what you will say about Frimpong is he is a breath of fresh air.

While it is perhaps too early to make comparisons between Frimpong and older right-backs, one thing that cannot be disputed is the Celtic youngster has already won a major trophy while Tavernier has not.
Do you think Frimpong is better than Tavernier?
Yes
No
Too early to make a comparison
Chris Sutton labelled the 28-year-old as a “serial loser” prior to the final; a tag he couldn’t shake off at Hampden as Celtic lifted their 10th consecutive trophy and Frimpong’s first with the club.
And you certainly wouldn’t bet against the 18-year-old adding to his tally as his career progresses.
