Christopher Jullien has shared the motivational words he said to Odsonne Edouard at half-time in Celtic’s clash with Aberdeen on Saturday.

The defender opened the scoring at Parkhead before Sam Cosgrove levelled for the away side to leave the score tied at 1-1 heading into the break.

Eddy scored a fine winner for Celtic in the second-half, and Jullien has revealed to the club’s official website what he said to his fellow countryman at half-time on Saturday before suggesting he could have scored “five or six.”

I was the first to say to Odsonne at half-time, ‘You’re going to score, don’t worry!’ He’s been just unbelievable since the start of the season, and even before I came to Celtic. We know he’s a threat and if he keeps getting chances, we know he’s going to score a lot of goals.

For me, and I told him at the end of the game, he probably should have had five or six goals. But he knows that. He’s a great striker, he knows his strengths and we really trust in him.

Were you surprised Eddy only scored once against Aberdeen?

Eddy certainly could’ve added to his tally against the Dons, but ultimately his strike was enough to earn Celtic another crucial three points.

The Hoops now head into their with St Mirren knowing victory on Boxing Day will give them the chance to extend their lead at the top of the league to eight points with another win against Rangers this weekend.
