Jackie McNamara believes Celtic were too reliant on Jeremie Frimpong in Sunday’s Glasgow Derby.
The full-back was arguably one of Celtic’s better players on the day alongside the likes of Scott Brown and Callum McGregor, though the trio were all far from their best.
And speaking to Football Insider, McNamara suggested Celtic relied on Frimpong to be a creative spark out wide too much.
They tried to push the two full-backs on as wing-backs and I thought they were relying really heavily on Frimpong to produce something as there wasn’t really any other creativity coming from wider areas.
He maybe got tired towards the end, which is understandable as he played against St Mirren and did well.

Celtic certainly struggled creatively against Rangers, with a number of attacking players failing to make any real impact on the game.
The likes of James Forrest and Mikey Johnston were both unable to create any real chances of note, while Ryan Christie’s saved penalty was as close as he came to finding the back of the net.
And while Frimpong was also not at his best going forwards, at least you could see him trying to take on his man or create something a little different; though his efforts also came to no avail.
