Young Everton defender Lewis Gibson is a man in demand at the moment, with both Newcastle United and Celtic keen to sign him, as reported on HITC.
The 19-year-old is struggling to agree on a new contract with the Toffees and his current deal expires at the end of the season.
Everton are continuing their negotiations with the teenager but he’s concerned about his lack of first-team action at Goodison Park.
Gibson is yet to make his senior debut and Celtic are now free to begin contact with the player ahead of a proposed summer transfer, whereas Newcastle can’t speak to the player until the end of the season.
The youngster left Newcastle to join Everton in 2017 and is one of highest rated players in Everton’s youth set-up at the moment.

Everything about this transfer makes sense. Gibson is young and hungry for first-team football, which is exactly what Neil Lennon can offer him.
His current contract situation is a boost for Celtic because it offers them a chance to convince the youngster that moving to Glasgow would be the best option for his personal development.
All Gibson needs to do is look at right-back Jeremie Frimpong, who has battled to earn a first-team at the Glasgow club. It may take time to ease into the squad, but Gibson will definitely get a chance at Celtic.
His composure, aerial prowess and passing ability make him one of the best defenders in his age group, so the Hoops should swoop in whilst they have the chance to sign this future star.
