Scott Sinclair reveals he had “fantastic time” at Celtic

Scott Sinclair has called time on his Celtic career, with the winger joining Preston North End of the Championship on a two-year deal.

The winger left for an undisclosed fee four years after joining for £4.5 million from Aston Villa.

With 62 goals in 167 appearances, Sinclair enjoyed a good spell with the Hoops, despite being left out of the team a lot this season by Neil Lennon, with only seven appearances in all competitions, as per Transfermarkt.

Speaking to Preston’s official website, Sinclair revealed that he had a great time at the Hoops, but he now felt it was time to move on and seek a new challenge with Alex Neil’s side.

I have had a fantastic three-and-half-years with Celtic, we did the treble treble, I got the PFA player of the year, scored goals and was top goalscorer, but now it is a new chapter for me.

I am coming here to improve and to help the team push for promotion.

Sinclair did enjoy a great spell with Celtic, despite not really appearing that much this season.

His 62 goals were impressive, and he became a fan favourite during his time with the Hoops, as per Scotzine.

Sinclair was reportedly on £33,000-per-week, and with his deal expiring this June, Celtic have probably done the right thing by cashing in on him before his deal expired.

By getting some cash for him, Celtic have avoided losing him on a free, giving them some vital transfer funds to spend in the January window as Neil Lennon’s side chase yet another title.
