Celtic set for ‘considerable’ Morgan profit

Celtic look set to pocket a ‘considerable’ profit from Lewis Morgan’s potential move to Inter Miami.

The Hoops accepted a “significant six figure” bid from the MLS side owned by David Beckham on Thursday, and Morgan is now set to hold talks with Inter Miami after travelling back from Dubai. 

The aforementioned “six-figure” sum is yet to be officially revealed, however, according to STV, the fee is substantially higher than the £250,000 Celtic paid St Mirren back in 2018.

STV understands the offer Celtic have accepted is considerably more than the £250,000 they paid the Saints in January 2018.

We feel like this is an excellent piece of business for all parties involved in the deal, if Morgan agrees terms and completes his move.

Firstly, we think Celtic are likely to be incredibly happy with netting a substantial profit on Morgan.

The winger has proved to be a useful player at times, but failed to really establish himself as a first-team regular, emphasised by the fact he has made just 31 appearances in his two years at the club. 

20 of those have come from the bench, while he has been substituted off a further seven times, meaning Celtic are receiving a ‘considerable’ profit for a player who has completed 90 minutes on just four occasions for the club.

Those stats then highlight how important this move could be for Morgan if it goes through, given how he has struggled for regular first-team football at Celtic.

If that’s not a brilliant piece of business, I don’t know what is.
