Celtic have been given a boost in their pursuit of striker Andraz Sporar, after Slovan Bratislava signed a new striker earlier today, as reported by the Daily Record.
The Scotsman reported on Friday that Sporar was set to snub Celtic’s interest, with Sporting Lisbon also keen on signing the striker, who is the top-scorer in the Slovak league this season.

However Neil Lennon, who is keen on signing another striker during this transfer window, may feel that Slovan’s latest transfer business has improved his side’s chances at landing the forward.
The Daily Record report explains that after Slovan completed the signing of Alen Ozbolt from Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Friday, the signing could have paved the way for Sporar to swap the Slovakian capital for Glasgow.

With The Scotsman having claimed that Sporar has no intention of signing for the Hoops, it will be interesting to see how the club’s interest develops.
At the very least it is fair for the Bhoys to expect Sporar’s departure from Slovakia this month, with Slovan having established their replacement in Ozbolt, which could suggest that Celtic have a chance.
However, should Sporting elect to firm up their interest, it doesn’t look likely that Celtic can beat out the Portuguese outfit, if the Scotsman’s claims are to be believed.
Rangers are currently only just behind the Hoops, and should they win their game in hand, they will move to the top of the Scottish Premiership, meaning that Celtic don’t have any time to waste if they wish to contact Sporar as they look to strengthen.
