Celtic transfer target Fabricio Bruno has had his contract with Cruzeiro terminated, according to a report onĀ Globo Esport.
The Hoops have been linked with a move for the centre-back for several weeks and recently, he lost his court battle against Cruzeiro for unpaid wages.

The club then accepted an offer from Red Bull Bragantino but there were further complications, with the move falling through.
Now, as stated in theĀ Daily Record, Cruzeiro have paid 500,000 Brazilian dollars to release him from his contract and he is now a free agent.

This comes as a big boost for the Hoops because they can now sign the defender for free this month.
The reportĀ does state that the club will keep a 25% chunk of his registration, meaning any club that wants him will either have to buy that 25% or give Cruzeiro a portion of any future transfer free.
We feel that this is a big chance for the Hoops to swoop in and sign the defender, especially after one of his proposed transfers already broke down.
