Fans react as Man City offer Poveda to Celtic
Celtic have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Manchester City winger Ian Poveda this month, but a number of Hoops supporters do not appear pleased with the news.
According to the print edition of Tuttosport, as cited by Sport Witness, City are looking to offload Poveda to Celtic for a “token fee” or on a free transfer, but want to include a “low buyback clause” in the deal.
However these Celtic fans are not convinced the winger is a player the club should pursue.

Making a move for Poveda certainly isn’t something those supporters want to see this month, and if I’m honest, I’m not sure about a potential move either.
Celtic do look set to lose two wingers this month, as Lewis Morgan looks set for a move to Inter Miami, while Scott Sinclair has already left the club.
Therefore adding another winger does make sense on the one hand. However on the other, Neil Lennon does have both Daniel Arzani and Marian Shved available to him for the second-half of the season.
Do you think Celtic should sign Poveda?
Yes
No
Furthermore, the likes of Karamoko Dembele and Jonathan Afolabi are also progressing in the Reserves, and signing another player in Poveda who is equally as unproven as those four doesn’t appear to make much sense in my opinion.
And City also want to include a “low buyback clause,” meaning they’ll be able to snap him up for a cheap fee if he does do well at Celtic. So I’d rather see some of the younger talent given the chance ahead of Poveda, personally.
