Journalist Brian McNally has slammed Alan Muir’s performance in Celtic’s 2-1 win over Partick Thistle on Saturday.
The referee took charge of the Hoops’ return to domestic action following the winter break, and made a number of contentious decisions at Firhill on Saturday.
Following his display, the Sunday Mirror’s McNally took to Twitter to vent his frustrations and state his belief that the SFA have to take action against Muir.

McNally sums up how most of us were feeling after Muir’s decision to award Partick a penalty late on, penalising Jeremie Frimpong for what was an excellent last ditch tackle.
That decision was even more surprising after Muir denied Frimpong’s claim for a penalty, after he was sent sprawling in the area following a blatant push in the back in the first-half.
Whether the SFA take action against Muir following his performance remains to be seen, but we were certainly very surprised following his decision’s in Celtic’s win at Firhill.
