Galatasaray to hold ‘critical meeting’ over Celtic target Wanyama
Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim has identified Celtic target Victor Wanyama as an ideal signing and will hold a ‘critical meeting’ with Tottenham Hotspur regarding the midfielder, according to a report on Turkish news outlet Takvim.
The Hoops have been closely linked with a move for Wanyama this month, with manager Neil Lennon confirming that he would like to see the player back at Celtic Park.
However, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has played down rumours surrounding the Kenya international.
As stated in the report, Terim wants Wanyama ‘very much’ and is insisting on signing him for the Turkish giants.
READ CELTIC VERDICT
Many Celtic fans want to see Wanyama back in the green and white Celtic shirt but we believe that it is highly unlikely to happen this month.
Do you think Wanyama will ever return to Celtic?
Yes
No
Why? Because Lennon already has immense quality and depth in midfield and is also closing in on the signing of another midfielder – Ismailia Soro.
The manager himself said that he ‘highly doubts’ that the club will sign Wanyama in this transfer window so it seems that Galatasaray will have a good chance of securing his signature.
