Celtic have reportedly made contact with Sky Sports following Kris Boyd’s comments about Leigh Griffiths on Wednesday night.
According to the Daily Record, the Hoops received a number of complaints from supporters urging the club to respond to Boyd’s comments, which some labelled “disgusting,” and Celtic have responded by contacting Sky Sports.
Celtic have written to Sky Sports to demand answers over Kris Boyd’s controversial comments about Leigh Griffiths. Record Sport understands Parkhead chiefs have been inundated by fans complaining about the pundit’s pop at the striker in Wednesday night’s broadcast of their 3-1 win at Rugby Park.

Celtic actually contacting Sky Sports to “demand answers” following Boyd’s comments is the perfect response in our opinion, as he cannot be allowed to get away with making such statements.
The pundit was completely out of line to criticise Griffiths in the manner he did following the 29-year-old’s personal mental health issues, especially given how Boyd has set up his own mental health charity.
Furthermore, the Record also reveal how Celtic fans pointed out that Boyd’s stats were wrong when he was being critical of Griffiths.
Therefore Celtic’s response is excellent to see as it both publicly backs Griffiths and prevents the likes of Boyd, and fellow pundits for that matter, from making these sweeping, out of line statements in the future.
