Jackie McNamara believes Moritz Bauer “could” be set for a rare start for Celtic on Saturday, as the Hoops host Ross County in their first home match of the year.
Neil Lennon has confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong is ruled out with an ankle injury he sustained against Kilmarnock.

And speaking to Football Insider, McNamara claimed Bauer may therefore be in line for an appearance due to Frimpong and Hatem Abd Elhamed’s respective injury concerns.
Yeah, he could do. I don’t know how Elhamed is or anyone else. He [Neil Lennon] has got three right-backs at the clubs but Bauer should be able to deputise and take that position, for now, to help out.

After Jeremie Frimpong was stretchered off against Killie in midweek, it’s no surprise to see him miss this weekend’s clash, and therefore Bauer is almost certain to start.
And while the Stoke loanee has only featured 10 times so far this season, we feel as though he has enough quality to fill in well for both Elhamed and Frimpong.
