Niclas Eliasson’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya has left the door open for a potential move to Celtic in the summer despite ruling out a January departure from Bristol City.

According to the Daily Record, Cetinkaya revealed the winger is too important for the Championship club to allow him to leave this month, but he claimed “something big” could occur in the summer window amid interest from Celtic, Lazio and Villarreal.

Interest comes from big clubs and major leagues and clubs are looking to buy him now but Bristol has said no. That’s all I can say right now. But in the summer window, something big could happen to Niclas.

READ CELTIC VERDICT

Cetinkaya talking up the possibility of a move away from Bristol City in the summer is hardly surprising in my view.

The Robins are embroiled in a race for promotion from the English Championship and currently sit just two points adrift of the play-off places with a game in hand.

Therefore ruling out a January move for a player who has created 10 assists in the league is understandable.

Do you think Eliasson will join Celtic in the summer?

Yes

No

But of course it’s no guarantee that City will gain promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, and that is why Cetinkaya has not ruled out the possibility of a move away in the summer, in my opinion.

If the Robins go up, Eliasson is highly likely to want to stay at the club and test himself in the top flight, but if they miss out on promotion, then the possibility of moving on could be more appealing to the 24-year-old.
