Celtic have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of January target Niclas Eliasson following an update from the winger’s agent.
Sky Sports reported over the weekend that Eliasson had been “linked” with a move to Celtic this month, along with former Hoops loanee Filip Benkovic.
However according to the Daily Record, Eliasson’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya has ruled out a January departure for the Swede this month given his importance to Bristol City’s promotion plans.
No, it’s going to be difficult. Bristol want to keep him for their aims to move up. Then he has an option in his contract the club will use.

With three goals and 10 assists in the Championship thus far, it’s no surprise that Bristol City want to keep hold of the 24-year-old in my opinion.
The Swede is arguably one of their most important attacking assets, given how he has created more goals for his team than any of his teammates
And with the Robins just two points off the play-off places in the Championship with a game in hand, the last thing they’ll want to do this month is let one of their key men go.
