Spain and Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has revealed why he will “never forget” playing at Celtic Park.
According to FourFourTwo, as cited by the Daily Record, Iniesta revealed that the atmosphere at Parkhead is up there with the “best in the world” and he feels privileged to have played there on more than one occasion.
When asked about the 2-1 defeat to Celtic back in 2012, Iniesta replied:
I remember that well. One goal from a corner and another on the counter. Football is wonderful for reasons like these – the team who has the ball or the better players doesn’t always win.
I’ll never forget playing against Celtic, either. The atmosphere is one of the best in the world. I was fortunate to play there several times and it was always so intense. It was an honour to play amid such incredible noise.

Iniesta is the latest in a growing list of players to have expressed their appreciation for the incredible noise generated at Celtic Park.
In 2016, the Daily Record compiled quotes from a number of footballer’s who have waxed lyrical about Parkhead in the past, from Iniesta’s former teammates Xavi and Lionel Messi, to Paolo Maldini and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The number of high-profile players who name Celtic Park as one of the best stadiums in the world is extraordinary, and the Hoops’ home therefore has to be considered as one of the greatest in modern football.
The Green Brigade certainly play a big part in that, something that former boss Brendan Rodgers recognised when he praised them for the brilliant tifo they produced when Celtic played Astana back in 2017.
