Christopher Jullien has won the most amount of duels so far this season

Celtic have revealed that Christopher Jullien has won the highest number of duels so far this season out of anyone at the club.

The defender has established himself as a regular in the side since signing from Toulouse for £7 million last summer (BBC Sport), making 37 appearances so far this season (Transfermarkt).

And Celtic posted an impressive statistic about the Frenchman on their official Twitter account earlier this week, revealing how he has won 110 duels so far this season, 12 more than Scott Brown in second.

Jullien, Broony and Kristoffer Ajer making up the top three is hardly surprising given how the former and the latter are Celtic’s main men in defence while Broony sets the example in midfield as captain.

The statistic also emphasises just how good a signing Jullien has been. Not only is he clearly helping Celtic out defensively by winning his duels, but he has also contributed at the other end of the pitch as well.

Jullien has scored a number of hugely important goals this season, with the winner against Lazio and the second goal against Hamilton more recently springing to mind.

And it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Frenchman add a few more before the end of the season given how he has scored six already (Transfermarkt), whilst also still topping this list when the campaign finishes.
