Many Celtic supporters celebrated Marian Shved’s goal for the reserves on Tuesday, with some even calling for him to start against Kilmarnock this weekend.

The winger has had a tough time of it this season, with a lack of opportunities restricting him to just three first-team appearances so far (Transfermarkt).

Neil Lennon appeared to have been impressed by the Ukraine international during the winter break in Dubai, suggesting he was ready to “explode” into the first-team in 2020 (The Herald).

However, the Celtic boss’ most recent update on the winger was slightly less positive, with Lennon revealing the 22-year-old has struggled to learn English and to match the performance levels of others in training (Daily Record).

Shved was given an opportunity to impress for the reserves on Tuesday though, in a friendly against Aberdeen and the winger appeared to take the chance with both hands as he got on the scoresheet in a 4-0 victory for the Hoops.

Following the goal, a number of Celtic fans praised him on social media.
