Vito Mannone tells Celtic how to beat Copenhagen
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone has given Celtic an insight into how to beat FC Copenhagen ahead of the first leg of the Hoops’ Europa League last 32 tie on Thursday.
Mannone is currently playing on loan at Danish club Esbjerg, and he kept a clean sheet against Copenhagen in their shock 1-0 win over the Danish giants last Friday.
And according to the Daily Record, Mannone has revealed what the best way to play against Copenhagen is.
If Celtic are solid like we were against them on Friday, I’m sure their quality will come to the fore and they’ll have a real chance of winning.
The key to beating Copenhagen is concentration and working as a unit at the back. We’ve shown Celtic the way to do it. You have to be compact and solid then let your quality come through. I’m sure Celtic have that quality.

On paper, Celtic are the favourites ahead of Thursday’s first leg in my opinion. The Hoops have won all nine of their games since the return from the winter break, scoring a remarkable 30 goals and conceding just four.
Copenhagen meanwhile have only just returned from their winter break and they looked off the pace in their defeat to Esbjerg on Friday (Daily Record).
Do you think Celtic will keep a clean sheet against Copenhagen on Thursday?
Yes
No
Therefore, Celtic are in the better form heading into the tie, so hopefully Neil Lennon’s men can capitalise on that and secure a positive first leg result on Thursday.
Working as a unit, as Mannone alludes too, is certainly something the Hoops have done since the winter break, as the four goals conceded shows.
