Ismaila Soro could be in line to make his debut for Celtic in the Hoops’ last 32 first leg clash with FC Copenhagen on Thursday.

Neil Lennon confirmed Soro’s inclusion in his Europa League squad for the knockout stages earlier this month (Daily Record), with Jeremie Frimpong and fellow new Bhoy Patryk Klimala also added to the squad.

And Soro was pictured at the airport by SNS Group as Celtic prepared to travel to Denmark for Thursday’s encounter.

Soro had his first taste of action for Celtic earlier this week, when the midfielder played the first-half of a behind-closed-doors friendly with Aberdeen, with the Hoops’ Reserves running out 4-0 winners.

That appearance makes perfect sense now, as it allowed him to build up some match fitness once again, with the 21-year-old’s last first-team outing coming in Bnei Yehuda’s 1-0 win over Hapoel Afula over a month ago (Transfermarkt).

Do you think Soro will make his debut against Copenhagen?

Some supporters had feared that his substitution at half-time was as a result of an injury, but those concerns can now be put to bed with Soro travelling to Denmark with the rest of the squad.

Frimpong was also spotted at the airport as he travels abroad for a European fixture with Celtic for the first time.
