An Everton scout was impressed by Celtic duo Odsonne Edouard and Callum McGregor after attending Sunday’s win over Kilmarnock.
That’s according to Celtic legend Patrick Bonner, who told Sportsound that he chatted to the Everton scout during the victory about how impressive the duo are, and how they’re attracting a lot of attention this season (BBC Sportsound, 23/2/2020).
I was talking to one of the scouts from Everton here today. He is obviously up here and he was talking so highly about McGregor and the likes of Edouard and those kind of players. And they are attracting the attention of the big clubs.

With Eddy getting on the scoresheet and CalMac producing a Man of the Match display against Killie on Sunday, it’s no surprise the duo caught the eye of the Everton scout.
Furthermore, we’re already aware of the big clubs interested in the pair, given how the likes of Manchester United (TEAMtalk ) and Leicester City (Football Insider) have previously been linked with respective moves.
Both have been hugely influential figures for Celtic this season, with Eddy making 41 appearances in all competitions while CalMac has made 46 thus far (Transfermarkt).
And you would expect them to be among those who have made the most appearances for the club at the end of this season as well, given how Neil Lennon clearly considers them key members of his team from the amount he has played them so far.
So hopefully they can continue to have a positive impact on the Hoops’ push for another domestic treble, following impressive individual displays against Killie last weekend.
