Celtic have not been impressed by new Bhoy Patryk Klimala since his January move to the club, according to The Athletic’s Kieran Devlin.

The 21-year-old completed his £3.5million move from Jagiellonia Bialystok last month, becoming the Hoops’ first signing of 2020 (BBC Sport).

However, Devlin has revealed that Celtic have not been overly impressed by what they’ve seen from the young Pole thus far.

Have heard people inside the club aren’t impressed with him so far but it’s also only been six, seven weeks.

Klimala was always a strange one from the start, underlying reports were never that impressive. Seemed a bizarre move to sanction for that money.

Hearing that Klimala has not made an overly positive impression since arriving at the club does come as a surprise to me.

Prior to his move, the 21-year-old spoke of how he wanted to move to a club where he would be the first choice striker (Daily Record).

This suggested to me that he had an excellent mentality and would be up for the challenge of competing with the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths.

Do you think Klimala will break into team before the end of this season?

Yes

No

However, for Devlin to hear this kind of noise coming out of the club already is concerning and it could explain why he has only made four appearances in all competitions thus far (Transfermarkt).

Hopefully the 21-year-old is just still adjusting to life in a new country and at a new club, and he will come good as he becomes accustomed to being at Celtic.
