Marian Shved was one notable absentee from Celtic Reserves’ clash with Hibernian on Monday, with a number of fans questioning why the 22-year-old wasn’t involved.

The Reserves continued their push for SPFL Reserve Cup glory at Lennoxtown with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Hibs in the semi-final, to set up a tie against Aberdeen following their 3-1 win over Motherwell.

Hatem Abd Elhamed, Ismaila Soro and Patryk Klimala all featured for the Reserves in what was an incredibly strong starting line-up.

However, it was summer signing Luca Connell who opened the scoring for Celtic with a deflected effort, before Karamoko Dembele doubled the Hoops’ lead on the stroke of half-time.

Klimala made it three with a chipped effort over Adam Bogdan early in the second-half, before Hibs grabbed one back.

Dembele added his second and Celtic’s fourth just a minute later to wrap up the win and book a place in the final.

Prior to the win, however, multiple Celtic fans questioned why Shved was not involved on Monday.
