Celtic are hoping to extend Odsonne Edouard’s deal at the club before the summer transfer window opens.
That’s according to Football Insider, who claim that Celtic want to tie the Frenchman down to a new deal amid growing speculation about his future.
The report claims a number of European clubs are interested in the 22-year-old, while the likes of Manchester United have also been linked with a move for him (TEAMtalk).
Eddy’s current deal with the club is due to expire in 2022, after he agreed a four-year deal with following his move from Paris Saint-Germain (Daily Record).

Extending Eddy’s contract is something the club must prioritise, in my opinion.
Firstly, agreeing a new deal could bolster Celtic’s chances of keeping hold of him for at least one more season, with Football Insider suggesting that the Hoops are likely to cash in on him in the summer if they can’t agree a new contract.
He could be a key figure in the push for 10-in-a-row next season, if the ninth title is secured this campaign, given how impressive his form has been thus far in 2019/20.
The Frenchman has been key to Celtic’s success on the pitch throughout this season, scoring 25 goals and creating 17 assists in all competitions (Transfermarkt), to help the Hoops move to within seven wins of a ninth straight league title.
Furthermore, sorting out a new contract for Eddy gives Celtic the opportunity to include a minimum fee release clause in the deal, which would ensure they get the best price possible for him, should clubs come knocking in the future.
