Nir Bitton was the only Celtic player to feature in the SPFL’s Team of the Week following his performance against St Johnstone at the weekend, and a number of Hoops supporters have praised him for his display.
The versatile Israeli started in a back three alongside Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer, replacing Jozo Simunovic who missed the trip to McDiarmid Park.
And Bitton was one of the standout performers for Celtic on the day, emphasised by this accolade, as Celtic narrowly progressed into the Scottish Cup semi-final with a 1-0 win.
Ryan Christie was the man who took all the initial plaudits for scoring the only goal of the game nine minutes from time, but the SPFL have since singled Bitton out for praise by naming him in their Team of the Week.
Following the announcement, a number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to congratulate the 28-year-old, with many appearing to agree with the decision.
