John Beaton has been named as the referee for the fourth Glasgow Derby clash of the season this weekend, and a number of Celtic fans appear to be unhappy with the news.
Neil Lennon’s men travel to Ibrox looking for revenge following Rangers’ win at Celtic Park back in December, but the Hoops can take plenty of positives heading into the game.
Firstly, Lennon has revealed that he has no concerns with the respective fitnesses of Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Scott Brown despite the number of games all three have played this season (The National).
Furthermore, Celtic were comfortably the better side on their last visit to Ibrox, with goals from Odsonne Edouard and Jonny Hayes sealing a 2-0 win for the Hoops in the first meeting between the two this season.
The Hoops have also won 12 of their 13 domestic fixtures in 2020 and currently have a 13-point gap to Rangers in the league.
However, supporters appear to be concerned by Beaton’s appointment as the referee for this weekend’s clash, with many criticising the decision.
