Chris Sutton issued a humorous response to Rangers’ Premiership plea earlier this week, amid the ongoing confusion surrounding the rest of this season.
With football in Scotland currently postponed until further notice, many have questioned whether this season should be ended as the table currently stands, or whether the remaining fixtures should be played as soon as safely possible.
Sutton himself has had his say on the debate, stating his belief that if there is no way the rest of the season can be continued, then the campaign should end now with Celtic as champions (Daily Record).
Richard Keys, on the other hand suggested, on his personal blog that the 2019/20 season should just be scrapped altogether, despite nearly every league in Europe approaching the closing stages of the campaign.
Rangers have also made a statement on Facebook, with the club’s managing director stating their view that final Premiership standings can only be confirmed once every league game has finished this season.
Therefore they go against the view that Celtic should be awarded the title if the season was forced to finish now, and Sutton shared a funny eight-word response after the Daily Record revealed Rangers’ statement on Twitter.
I had a hunch they might say that… https://t.co/loI1Kdvuid
