Craig Gordon looks set to leave Celtic this summer and that could be good news for Conor Hazard’s first-team chances.
According to Football Insider, Celtic will allow Gordon to run his contract down and leave on a free transfer this summer after denying him of a January exit amid interest from Hearts.

Gordon hasn’t made a first-team appearance since the 2-0 defeat in the dead rubber Europa League outing against CFR Cluj in December, and therefore Celtic’s decision to allow him to leave is an understandable one.
Furthermore, it paves the way for Hazard to have a chance at breaking into the first-team and competing alongside the likes of Scott Bain and Fraser Forster, though he is currently set to return to Southampton this summer as things stand.
And Hazard would certainly deserve a chance to replace Gordon to become one of Neil Lennon’s first-team options, following his form for Dundee this season.
The 22-year-old has returned to the Dee in January after an emergency loan spell earlier in the season, and he has conceded just one goal in six appearances since re-joining the Championship side.
Furthermore, that one goal came in his first match back, meaning he has kept five consecutive clean sheets since, in what has been a strong run of form for the 22-year-old.
While he may be a little way off the level required to be Celtic’s standout number one, he could be a good option to have as a cup-goalkeeper for instance.
