UEFA are reportedly heading towards a decision that could be hugely positive for the outcome of Celtic’s season.

The head of Serie A, Gabriele Gravina, revealed on Italy’s Radio Marte, as cited by the Daily Record, that UEFA are considering extending this season into the months of July and August.

When asked about the possibility of when this season could finish, Gravina replied:

It depends. It’s harder for Italy because we have 13 games to catch up on and we’ll also probably have to fit in European games. Right now it doesn’t make sense to talk about dates. We need to be aware that to finish our league it will take 45-60 days.

If we’re granted the months of July and August, which UEFA and all the federations are moving toward, that could be the period we’re talking about.

This could be hugely positive news for Celtic, as allowing the season to possibly get back up and running in order to finish in July or August would allow the Premiership season to be completed.

Therefore the Hoops would have the chance to win a ninth successive title by seeing out their remaining league fixtures instead of being awarded the league if the season finishes early, which Kris Commons believes would taint the success.

Of course, there is still an air of uncertainty regarding whether this season will be able to be completed, but at least it appears as though UEFA are exploring different options.

Do you think this season will be able to be completed?

No

Hopefully, the campaign can get back up an running again in the future to allow Celtic the chance to win their remaining eight league outings and finish the season as champions.
