Celtic are reportedly planning to offload Boli Bolingoli this summer, and the news has split reactions amongst the Hoops’ fanbase.

Football Insider reported earlier this week that officials at Celtic have been unimpressed by Boli during his debut campaign with the club, and are therefore looking to move him on in the summer window.

The news comes just a few days after the same website revealed Neil Lennon’s intentions to prioritise signing a new left-back this summer.

It does seem slightly harsh on Boli to consider him surplus to requirements so soon after his £3 million arrival at the club last summer.

Although he made a few mistakes during the first half of the season, he certainly showed an equal amount of promise at times as well.

Following the news, a number of Celtic fans shared their thoughts on our Read Celtic Facebook page, with some also seeing the decision as harsh, whilst others stated their belief that he isn’t good enough.

Eddie Briggs believes it would be a head scratching decision if Celtic sold him: “I may be out of my mind here but I can’t ever remember watching him and thinking he’s nowhere near good enough? I’ve done it with Taylor and Hayes, Hayes just about every time he’s on the park, but never Bolingoli.”

Meanwhile Ryan Kilmurray replied: “Get rid of him sign a quality left back and a right winger as well.”

Robert O’Donnell suggests he’s the best option in the current formation: “In our 3-5-2 he is easily the best we have ,too many fans? Listen and read the negativity towards him and that forms their judgement. I dont get why Taylor in front of him in our new formation, never seen him go by a man? For me he is ordinary.”

Michael Johnston disagrees: “To many mistakes, inconsistent.”

What do you think Celtic should do with Boli this summer?

But Sufiyan Zaheer believes he deserves another shot: “Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. He deserves a second chance.”
