A number of Celtic fans have been reacting to journalist Phil Hay’s suggestion that Odsonne Edouard could become a realistic target for Leeds United this summer, if they are promoted to the Premier League.
Responding to a question about the Frenchman in a Q&A with Leeds supporters on The Athletic earlier this week, Hay suggested there is no reason why the Whites couldn’t target a move for Edouard if they gain promotion.
Hay did clarify that Leeds are currently showing no signs of interest in the £30m-rated Eddy, however.
The Championship side would become the latest in a growing list of English clubs to have registered an interest in him if they do pursue a summer switch.
Following Hay’s suggestion about the striker being a realistic target for Leeds, a number of Celtic fans have responded on our Facebook page, with some stating the move would be a step down, whilst others joke that it is an April Fools prank.

Guy Nicholson questions whether he would want a move to Leeds: “If they go up they can afford him, promotion to the Premier League is worth £90m but I doubt he will go to a club who is not guaranteed European football every season.”
Craig Strachan believes they wouldn’t be able to afford him: “Leeds couldn’t afford him, he’s worth more than the entire Leeds squad 😂 and thats about as likely as us signing Messi if we won the World Cup!”
Eugene Robson replied: “Best April Fools ever 😆👍.”
Chris Sweeney is another who joked about the report: “April fools.”
James Bowers said: “What a huge step backwards that would be.”
And it’s easy to see what Marius Codrea thinks: “Leeds😂😂😂😂LEEDS!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😉😂.”
