Celtic Foundation chief executive Tony Hamilton has treated fans to a glimpse of Celtic Park’s current condition with a brilliant photo of the pitch.
The Hoops took to the field at Parkhead over three weeks ago now, with their last outing coming in the 5-0 demotion of St Mirren back in March; a match that already seems a lifetime ago.
Since then, football has been put on hold in Scotland and across Europe, with UEFA announcing earlier this week that both the Champions League and the Europa League have been suspended “until further notice.”
Unsurprisingly Scotland’s Euro 2020, now rescheduled for 2021, play-off tie with Israel has also been cancelled, as have the other qualifiers for the tournament.
Despite the lack of football, the playing surface and the stadium still need to be maintained and kept in tip-top condition for when football does eventually resume in the future.
And Hamilton’s photo of the pristine pitch at Celtic Park shows how the Hoops are doing a great job of keeping their house immaculate in the absence of football.
Twitter: I had to nip in to the office today.
The old place is waiting for us.
Just think how good it’ll be when we get… https://t.co/eW4GJEwuRJ (@polishturnstile)
