Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Middlesbrough starlet Calum Kavanagh this summer, and he could prove to be an excellent signing in the future.

According to Irish outfit Herald.ie, Celtic are among a host of clubs interested in the 16-year-old, alongside the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Leicester City.

The report also states how Boro have offered Kavanagh a three-year professional contract.

Signing Kavanagh could prove to be an excellent piece of business in the future for Celtic, if the 16-year-old flourishes at the club. The teenager appears to be an exciting talent given the calibre of clubs who are interested in him, and he has impressed for Boro’s Under-18s recently with a goal against Liverpool in a 3-0 win.

Furthermore, the Hoops have a proven track record of signing youngsters and helping them develop into top players at the club, given how they signed Moussa Dembele on a similar deal back in 2016 before selling him for a record fee at the time of £19.7 million two years later.
