Celtic have made an approach to Manchester City to sign Patrick Roberts on a permanent deal, according to a report.
TeamTalk report that Celtic have made an offer of around £3m to City for the player who they’ve had on loan twice in recent years.
Roberts first joined Man City from Fulham for around £12m in 2015 but he’s never really been able to make an impact at the Etihad and as such, he’s spent time loan at Celtic, Girona, Norwich and Middlesbrough.
According to the report, City have yet to decide what to do with Roberts and as such, they’ve not accepted Celtic’s offer, but they haven’t outright rejected it either.
Roberts scored 18 goals in 79 appearances for Celtic during his two loan spells at the club and it looks like the Scottish champions want to bring him back once again, albeit on a permanent basis.

Whilst he failed to really make much of an impact at Girona or Norwich, Roberts looked good at ‘Boro before he was hampered by injury.
He’s shown before that he’s more than good enough to succeed in Scotland and if Celtic can get him for just £3m, that could be a bargain signing for the reigning champions.
