Celtic are one of the clubs showing an interest in signing Hearts defender Aaron Hickey, according to a report in the Daily Record.
Hickey was on the books of Celtic as a youngster but left join Hearts, and he’s managed to break into their first-team at the age of 16.
Now 17, Hickey is about to enter the final year of his contract with Hearts and it looks like he won’t be putting pen to paper on a new deal, which means the Edinburgh-based club could sell him in the summer.
The Daily Record report that a number of other high-profile clubs, such as Bayern Munich and Manchester City, are also interested in the defender.

Hickey started the Scottish Cup final against Celtic at the age of 16, so he’s a player that Hoops fans should be well aware of.
Signing top young players has been Celtic’s transfer policy for a few seasons so it is no surprise to see them linked with the Hearts defender.
Whilst he may have caught the eyes of both Bayern and City, Hickey should consider his next club very carefully as he’ll want to play first-team games.
The chances of the teenager breaking into the current Bayern or City teams appear to be very slim, which is why Celtic could be a good option for him as Neil Lennon has shown a willingness to play youngsters, like Mikey Johnson, on a regular basis.
