Liverpool and Scotland left-back Andy Robertson has admitted that he would love to play for his boyhood Celtic in the future, if he’s unable to finish his career at Anfield.
The Scotland captain grew up supporting Celtic and was even a ball boy at Celtic Park as a youngster.
He was on the books of the Hoops as a youngster but was released before ever getting close to the first team.
Speaking whilst he was a guest on the BBC’s That Peter Crouch Podcast, Robertson admitted that he has thought about returning in the future.
He said:
If you asked me now what I’d want to do, I’d want to retire at Liverpool, of course, but we know he’s hard that is, to play at that highest of levels until [the age of] 35, 36 maybe, so I’d love to pull on the Celtic top and walk out at Parkhead. You try and move with the times and do what’s right for you family but do I want to go back to just live? Yeah, maybe.

Robertson is one of the best left-backs in the world, so it’s difficult to see Liverpool letting him go any time soon.
However, once his time at Anfield does come to an end, it would be nice to see him return to the club he grew up supporting.
