It’s no surprise to seeĀ Odsonne Edouard being linked with a move away from Celtic, given his goal scoring record and the level of his performances since arriving in Glasgow.
Arsenal and Newcastle United are just two of the teams being linked with a move to sign the Frenchman, but according toĀ transferĀ Ian McGarry, speaking on the latest edition ofĀ The Transfer Window podcast, Celtic are under no pressure to sell the player.
Furthermore, he stated that Celtic have put a £40m valuation on the striker, and given the financial turmoil of football as a whole, it seems unlikely that any clubs will be willing to spend that amount of money on him.

As it stands, nobody can accurately predict the financial implications of the global pandemic on Celtic and it might be that the club choose to cash in on Edouard in order to help balance the books.
However, according toĀ McGarry, at this time, Celtic are under no pressure to let him leave and the fact he is contracted to them means they hold most of the cards.
If Celtic do decide to sellĀ Edouard, it looks like it will be on their terms and that means, pandemic or not, that they will be able to ask for whatever fee they like.
