Celtic have been handed a transfer blow as defender Kristoffer Ajer has told his agent to start negotiations that could lead to him making a move away from Parkhead this summer.
As reported by Football Insider, the Norweigan star is well aware that both AC Milan and Leicester City are interested in him and as such, he’s told his agent to talk to both clubs.
The 22-year-old hasn’t decided that he will definitely look to leave the Scottish Champions this summer but he is apparently keen to hear about the proposals on offer from Milan and the Foxes.
If they do sell Ajer, Celtic will only receive 90% of the fee that any buyer will pay as the Hoops will owe a 10% sell-on fee to his former club IK Start.

The Norweigan has been a very good signing by the Hoops. Celtic paid £550,000 to sign the defender in 2016 and he’s developed from a promising youngster to one of the best defenders in the league.
Unfortunately for Celtic, teams seem to be circling and in the current financial climate, interested clubs may not be willing to spend a big fee on the defender.
Ajer’s current deal with Celtic doesn’t expire until 2022, so the Hoops will be in no great rush to cash in,
However, if the player does ask for a transfer, then at least the Hoops will be in a position where they can demand whatever fee they like, as the player still has two years left on his contract.
