Celtic are one of the clubs interested in signing Feyenoord’s defensive midfielder Renato Tapia this summer, according to a report from Peruvian outlet Libero.
The 26-year-old is set to become a free agent this summer, with his contract at Feyenoord coming to an end.
Having been a bit-part player for the Dutch side in the shortened 2019/20 season, Tapia and Feyenoord have mutually agreed to a parting of ways and now the player must decide where he wants to play next year.

With 53 international caps for Peru to his name, Tapia is a very experienced player and he could be a good addition for Celtic, especially on a free transfer.
Despite predominantly playing in midfield, he can also play at full-back or centre-back, meaning he’d provide Neil Lennon with plenty of versatility if he was to make the switch to Celtic Park.
Numerous clubs, including Rangers, are said to be interested in the 24-year-old, so getting him to agree a move to Celtic might not be straightforward but it’s something we think the club should definitely pursue given his talent, his versatility and his vast experience.
In the current climate, where clubs like Celtic may not have a huge amount of money to spend on transfers, signing someone as good as Tapia for free could be an excellent piece of business.
