Hearts defender Aaron Hickey is reportedly set to join Celtic this summer after choosing to move the Scottish champions instead of making a switch to England.

According to a report from 90min, the teenager has decided the best option for him at this stage of his career is to move to Celtic, rather than to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Leeds, all of whom were apparently interested in the full-back.

If the report from 90min is confirmed and Hickey does move to Celtic, it all be a big acquisition for the Hoops and one that could work out well both in the short term and the long term.

Should Aaron Hickey be Celtic’s first-choice left-back if he signs?

Given the fact that he’s just 17-years-old, Hickey could become Celtic’s left-back for years to come but he’s also got the talent to fight for a place in Neil Lennon’s side immediately.

Furthermore, if he does get regular game time at Celtic Park, the teenager can be used as an example to other youngsters to show them why they are better off moving to the Scottish champions rather than to England.
