Renato Tapia holds advanced talks with Celta Vigo

Celtic look to have been handed a transfer blow with the news that reported target Renato Tapia is in advanced talks with La Liga side Celta Vigo.

Tapia is set to become a free agent in just a couple of weeks and as such, he’s allowed to hold talks with any club who could be interested in signing him on a free transfer.

Celtic, and local rivals Rangers, had both been reportedly interested in signing the Peruvian star but Soccerlink claim that he’s close to an agreement with Celta Vigo.

As we explained when Tapia was first linked with Celtic, we think he could have been an ideal signing for the Hoops due his experience, his versatility and perhaps most importantly, the lack of a transfer fee that would be needed to sign him.

However, if the Soccerlink report is accurate, then it looks like the Hoops will need to look elsewhere for a potential summer signing.
