Celtic linked with swoop for Martin Minchev
When Celtic first took Odsonne Edouard on loan, he was just 19-years-old and it’s fair to say that his loan move, and his subsequent permanent transfer, have been huge successes as his goals have helped Celtic win six major honours, including three league titles.
According to a report from the Glasgow Times, the Hoops could be hoping to repeat that trick by signing teenage Bulgarian striker Martin Minchev.
The 19-year-old plays for Cherno More in Bulgaria’s First League and he’s been a part of their first-team set up for three years, having made his full debut as a 16-year-old.
The teenager is also a full international for the Bulgarian national team, having been capped by them on three occasions.

Aged 19, Minchev has ten goals and eight assists in 74 games for Cherno More and whilst those aren’t stats that jump off the page, the fact that he was made a first-team player at such a young age does.
Celtic have signed players from all over Europe in recent seasons and their scouts work hard to find potentially hidden gems all across the continent.
Should Celtic sign Martin Minchev?
Yes
No
Whilst they’ve had signings that simply haven’t worked out, like Maryan Shved, the Celtic recruitment staff deserve a lot of praise for assembling a squad that’s dominated Scottish football for the last decade and if those scouts believe that Minchev would be a good signing, then the club would be wise to bring him in on what would likely be a relatively cheap deal.
