Celtic are interested in signing Club Deportivo Olimpia striker Jorge Benguche, according to a report from Honduran outlet La Prensa.
The 24-year-old hit the headlines back in March as his goal for CDO helped the club knock Thierry Henry’s Montreal Impact out the CONCACAF Champions League.
Serie A side Cagliari and Portuguese club Belenenses have also shown interest in the striker, who has scored 33 goals for Deportivo since making his debut for them back in 2016.

Given that Celtic aleady have Osdonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths in their squad, it’s a bit of a surprise to see them linked with another striker on first glance.
However, if Neil Lennon intends to use his 3-5-2 formation more often next season, then it makes perfect sense for the Hoops to want a third senior option as the games come thick and fast and Griffiths’ injury record is far from stellar over recent seasons.
If Benguche could have the same impact at Celtic as his fellow countryman Emilio Izaguirre had, then he’d be a very good signing for Lennon.
