Celtic are lining up a deal for former England goalkeeper Joe Hart in case the Scottish champions or unable to complete a deal to re-sign Fraser Forster from Southampton, according to a report from the Daily Record.
Officials from The Hoops have already held talks with Hart’s representatives and according to the Record, a further discussion will take place this week.
Hart officially becomes a free agent on July 1st after Burnley chose not to give him a contract extension and as such, he’s free to hold talks with any interested party.
A source at Parkhead has confirmed that Celtic are interested in Hart but made it clear that Forster is still the club’s top priority, but they are still waiting to hear back from Southampton about the terms that the Saints will want included in any deal.

At one point, Joe Hart was one of the standout goalkeepers in Europe as Manchester City continued to win trophies with the Englishman in goal.
However, the arrival of Pep Guardiola saw Hart shipped off and in spells at Torino, West Ham and Burnley, it’s fair to say that he’d been up-and-down at best.
Itt makes sense for the Hoops to be looking elsewhere as there are no guarantees Forster will join and Hart does have te pedigree and character needed to play for a big club like Celtic, but we are still hoping that the club can do a deal with Saints to get Forster back as he’s been a proven commodity for Celtic.
