Celtic are are one of three clubs interested in signing Union Berlin striker Sebastian Andersson, according to The Guardian’s Ed Aarons.
He suggests that Celtic have joined Premier League side Newcastle United and Championship club West Bromwich Albion is showing an interest in the 28-year-old.

German outlet BILD reported earlier in the year that Andersson was very much on Celtic’s radar and given the report from Kieran Devlin of The Athletic a few weeks ago that suggested that this summer, the Hoops are likely to targets who they’ve already scouted and done background work on, then the links to Andersson do make sense.
However, whether Celtic need to spend money on a striker during this transfer window is open to debate.
The Hoops already have Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths in the squad and as the club’s finances have been hit by the current global events, spending a significant fee on a forward who wouldn’t be guaranteed to play each week might not be the wisest of moves.
However, with games set to come thick and fast from early August, and with Griffiths’ injury history, Neil Lennon may well think it’ll be beneficial to have three senior forward options available to him.
Swedish international Andersson scored 12 Bundesliga goals for Union Berlin last season and given that he’s 6ft 3in, he could provide the Hoops with a more physical presence at the top of the pitch, which could come in handy in games where Celtic perhaps need a change of strategy to beat a tough opponent.
