Jack Hendry has already sealed a season-long loan move to Belgian side KV Oostende for the upcoming campaign, but his stay in Belgium could last a lot longer than just one year.

In a post on their official website, KV Oostende confirmed that they have an agreement in place with Celtic to make loan move a permanent deal for €1.94m (£1.75m), if they so wish.

Celtic paid a reported £1.5m to sign Hendry from Dundee back in January 2018, so they could actually make a slight profit on him if the Belgian side decide to take up their option.

We originally thought that Hendry would have a chance to prove himself in Belgium and potentially come back and establish himself as a Celtic player, but that no longer appears to be the case.

If the Scottish international plays well for Oostende, then it looks like they will keep him there permanently.

If that is the case, the Hoops have actually done quite well to recoup the fee they paid for the defender who, in all truth, has been a disappointing signing.
