Robbie Deas Joins Inverness CT
Young defender Robbie Deas has left Celtic and joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle, it has been confirmed on Caley’s official website.
The 20-year-old had been at Celtic Park for a decade, but after two loan spells to Cowdenbeath and Alloa in the last two seasons, he has now decided to move on, in search of regular first-team action.
Inverness, who finished second in the curtailed 2019/20 Scottish Championship standings, have confirmed the capture of Deas on a three-year deal.
Deas has represented Scotland Under 19s on 15 occasions and is set to have a bright future in the game. After successful spells in Scottish League two with Cowdenbeath and more recently with Alloa in the Championship, he will now hope to continue his development at the Caledonian Stadium.
The Hoops are expected to lose another youngster in the coming days, with 16-year-old Barry Hepburn expected to sign for Bayern Munich. The highly thought of winger is set to join another former Celtic academy star, Liam Morrison, at the Bundesliga winners.
In truth, the departure of Deas can come as no great surprise for the Bhoys faithful. Despite being with the club since the age of 10 he has never looked like getting near the first team since signing professional. Should he develop it is likely the Scottish Champions have a sell-on clause in place.
