Neil Lennon has confirmed that Celtic are in talks to sign Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull.
The midfielder almost moved to Celtic last summer but that deal collapsed when he failed his medical due to a knee issue, one that he had to have surgery to rectify.
He’s now back fit and firing and as such, Celtic are looking to finally take him from Motherwell.
When asked about the deal, Lennon admitted Celtic were interested but also said he wasn’t sure how close the transfer was to being completed.
I have no idea how far or how close anything is, you know, going to be confirmed. I have totally been concentrating obviously on Dundee United on Saturday and this game that lies ahead for us. It is so important, I can’t have too many distractions elsewhere.

It’s hard to believe that Lennon isn’t fully aware of how far along the deal is, but it makes perfect sense for the manager to keep that information close to his chest for a number of reasons.
Taking any focus away from the big Champions League game would be unwise for Lennon but it is great news that a move for Turnbull should be completed very shortly.
