Celtic left-back Daniel Church has confirmed that is leaving The Hoops after 13 years with the club

The 20-year-old leaves Parkhead as a free-agent and will now hope to secure a move to a new club.

Church never made a first-team appearance for the Hoops and follows many of the Celtic youth players to leave the club in recent weeks.

Another 20-year-old, Scott Robertson, secured his temporary switch to English League One Gillingham yesterday.

It seems the lack of first-team football is leading many young prospects to depart the club, a worrying trend should it continue.

Church’s departure is another hole in the left-back department, coupled with Boli Bolingoli’s potential imminent departure.

Neil Lennon may dip back into the market to strengthen the position with Greg Taylor currently the only fit and available option.
